about this project

For various exhibitions at the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden (RMO) in Leiden, I worked on translating campaign images into a wide range of media. The visual style was developed by Studio Dumbar, who also introduced me to the RMO. From this foundation, I ensured a consistent and technically sound implementation of the campaigns, both in print and digital formats.

From main image to complete campaign

The campaign usually started with a single, powerful main image or poster design by Studio Dumbar. My role was to carefully translate this design into all the necessary materials, without losing the character or visual tension of the original.

Many formats, one visual line

The translation involved a wide range of formats: posters from A2 to bus shelters, billboards, banners, roll-up banners, and large canvases for buildings. Each format requires technical precision, while maintaining a recognizable look.

Digital in and around the museum

Besides print, digital played a major role. Many images were created for social media, websites, and other digital media in and around the museum. Here too, consistency was essential, despite the wide variety of applications and screen sizes.

Supporting printed matter

Additional brochures and flyers were used at various exhibitions. These materials also seamlessly integrated with the campaign and required a careful balance between design, readability, and production requirements.

Cooperation

These projects brought everything together: Studio Dumbar's design, the content and context of the RMO, and my role as a technical graphic designer. The focus was always on a reliable and consistent translation of the campaign image across all media.
